Russia and kingdom of Saudi Arabia declared set of
deals during the visit of King Salman Bin Abdul-Aziz visit to Russia.
It is noteworthy that this is the first official visit
for a Saudi king to Russia, which is the thing that Saudi officials are
optimistic about as they see that this visit represents "a new
horizon" Saudi-Russian relations.
The deals include a billion dollar investment fund as
well as buying Russian missile defense system.
Moreover, according to Saudi commission for military
industries, Saudi Arabia will receive the most updated military technology from
Russia referring to that they are going to buy S-400 missile defense from
Russia. Additionally, minister of foreign affairs Sergie Lavarov stated that
Saudi king already has a positive assessment for the initiative Russia takes in
order to solve the Syrian crisis. Al-Jubeir added that Saudi Arabia and Russia
are working together on unifying the Syrian opposition, and that there as an
agreement between their countries on the significance of protecting the unity
of the Syrian lands and their institutions. Moreover, correspondents pointed
out that this visit reflects the improvement of the relations between the
biggest two exporting oil countries. It is noteworthy that both countries have
agreed on, last September, to reduce the production of oil until March 2018 to
raise the world oil prices. On the other hand, Saudi ministry of energy al
Faleh, stated that this agreement helped to stabilize the oil market.
